Melissa Bateman is a book lover and baking enthusiast. Born in rural Kent in the late 1980s, her childhood playground was her grandparents’ farm where she shared adventures with her sister and their favorite cat, Tink. Melissa began writing Daughter of Ibany in the summer of 2013, and worked on it steadily over the next three years. Among her favourite authors are Philippa Gregory, J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins, and her hobbies include cinema trips, and watching period television dramas and documentaries. She especially enjoys David Attenborough’s nature programmes, and plans to indulge her love of wildlife on future visits to Canada and Australia.
